Activision Fires Studio Heads Before Payments - "Activision fired them in the hope that by doing so, it could avoid paying them what they had rightfully earned"

Infinity Ward’s highly anticipated sequel, Modern Warfare 2 was a massive success. Its publisher, Activision claimed it had, "the biggest launch in history across all forms of entertainment." It made $310 million in first day sales between North America, and the UK. Not everyone was celebrating as IW studio heads, Vince Zampella, and Jason West were fired by their publisher. A two year-long legal warfare would ensue between the duo and Activision.
